Dr. John Fujii was born and raised in Stockton and graduated from Lincoln High School. He then attended the University of California, Davis, and the University of Houston, College of Optometry.
Since graduating from the University of Houston, Dr. Fujii has practiced in various clinical settings. While working for various ophthalmologists, he managed their pre- and post-operative patients. He also served as the Clinical Director for Pacific Laser Eye Center until 2003. In this role, he coordinated the opening of the center, educated doctors and surgeons on the co-management of laser vision correction, tracked outcomes, and managed complex cases.
Dr. Fujii says, “I enjoy delivering personal and professional care to our patients. It is an honor to see a patient’s joy when we can improve their vision.” His belief, “if you want a better world then you should work to improve it,” drives Dr. Fujii’s involvement in his community. He has served First Five San Joaquin as Chairperson and on numerous subcommittees, and has worked with the Mary Graham Children’s Shelter Foundation. Dr. Fujii has coached youth basketball teams and has served on his children’s School Site Council. Currently he is serving as the President of the Buddhist Church of Stockton.
Professionally, Dr. Fujii has served as Membership Chair for the California Optometric Association and also as President of the San Joaquin Optometric Society, which spearheaded the ideas and the fundraising for the Eye Exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Stockton. Dr. Fujii is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry.
